… we live here is because of the people we meet. Customers become friends and we do things that friends would do ….. i hung a mirror for someone today on the back wall of their living room. It reflected the fantastic view they have of the Teifi estuary looking across to Poppit sands and looked wonderful. I didn’t want to be paid for my time, it wasn’t expected nor necessary, but believe me I am going to really enjoy the lobster with a glass of chilled white wine. Thank you for reminding me why.

now then …… the shop is up and running well, the mundos folks are on the ball and I’m going to go and throw a spanner in the works.
we have found it impossible to keep up with stock levels in shop and on line so have consequently let the site slip into obscurity …. shame on us!
So! we have now, after much searching, found a hopefully suitable stock control and till system that will ‘talk’ to the website and allow us, over the next few months, to start to populate the web store with the bundles of the truly fabulously wonderful things that sparkle from the shelves of our lovely lovely shop.
hurrah …. now let the hard work begin!
our thanks to the Rees family who sent this holiday snap from their tour de France where every camp was brightened up by theĀ lovely bunting they bought from us last year …. so pleased to see the essentials are being packed !
I took a day out today and climbed to the top of Wales with a couple of friends …… cloud made visibility pretty poor on the way up but 100 m off the summit we broke through in to blue sky and sunshine.
Up until then I hadn’t seen quite what it was I was trying to reach but I believed it would be worthwhile.
What made the moment that little bit sweeter was being able to share it.
I grew up playing this game ….. I even remember the sound of the ‘Pop-O-Matic’ dice shaker !
All this has come to mind as a result of us trying to get things done in this fantastic age of technology …… it still boils down to getting someone to do something when you ask them to do it ….
Is it just me ????????

Phew …… how many miles did we walk I wonder? The Spring Fair has been done for another year, Christmas decorations ordered and lashings of yummy new things sourced and ordered.
We still get sooooo excited when we find something that we know will look great in the shop. Good quality and design is out there ……. it reminds me of all the years spent travelling, days spent drifting and sifting through markets.
The pocket was alot tighter those days but maybe that was another of life’s lessons.
kids back to school today, shop opened yesterday and the mountain of paperwork that has grown over the last few weeks is looming over me……. head down and start is the first step, come up regularly for breaths is the second and picturing the snow covered French ones that are only a couple of weeks away is the one that will keep me going…… after all, we all need incentives.
Well I’m the first to admit I haven’t been using this recently, something to do with a new shop and a fast and very encouraging first two months trading from it ….. however!!! ….. lots of plans were made over the mince pies and mulled wine so maybe, just maybe, this year will afford us sufficient headspace to put into action a few of these.
Thank you all for your support, it is greatly appreciated.
Exciting times!
the new shop has been open for a week now, we are still unpacking boxes and putting the finishing touches to display but it’s beginning to feel like ‘we are there’.
after weeks of mayhem and madness, I took five minutes this morning to watch the sun rise, enjoyed every second and put my feet firmly back on the ground.
We’ve got a fab bunch who have worked for us and with us. Without whom this would not have been possible …. Thank you!

slightly tongue in cheek but who says it has to be all work and no play …… the back is flattened and gravelled. Tidy, as they say!
